Luffy’s top 5 funniest moments 

5.Coming in at number 5 we have coating Franky’s brother. Franky and Luffy  

interactions might be scarce, but they have always made me laugh. This  

entire conversation about explaining the ships coating only to have Luffy  

understand 0% of it floored me the first time I saw it. It is a classic Luffy reply 

and Franky can't help but tell him close enough! Franky has his fair share of 

moronic moments along the way, but the fact that even he is awe struck by  

Luffy’s Misinterpretation for a few seconds always gets me. This moment 

Is sure to put a smile on my face every time I see it. 

4. Number 4 we have a tale as old as time... Luffy calling someone the wrong  

Name. I have always loved when Luffy calls someone the wrong name, but 

My favorite example must be calling Brulee “Branch”. There were so many 

times in Whole Cake Island where Luffy would have been done for without 

this insane character. Their constant back and forth of Luffy saying branch  

to the point where Brulle actually calls herself branch kills me. This is an  

ongoing bit for Luffy but to this day none cracks me up quite like this one. 

3. Number 3!!!! Luffy hitting Zoro or sending him flying pre time skip is one of 

the best bits in the entire anime. The moment that floors me every time is  

when Luffy accidentally punches Zoro at the marine base. Luffy disrespects  

a lot of people, but he honestly just threw Zoro around like a ragdoll multiple  

times before the timeskip. I don't know what happened to this bit, but I really 

hope Oda/Toei revisits this in the near future. 

2. Coming in at the Number 2 spot..lol... is Luffy getting trapped by Crocodile 

In Arabasta. I contemplated even having this on my list and the more I 

thought about it the more I kept laughing. This entire sequence is absurd  

seeing as they follow Luffy down a hallway specifically for pirates. The whole 

situation screams Luffy especially after he thinks it was the most well crafted 

trap in the world. It didnt end here though and we get comedic gold including 

calling crocodiles bananas, impersonating Sanji, and passing out due to Sea 

prism stone for the millionth time in the series. Well deserving of the number

2 spot in my opinion. 

1. Ta Dah!!! The number 1 funniest Luffy moment happened on Thriller Bark. 

Thriller Bark is widely considered to be fans least favorite arcs, but it gave 

Us so many funny moments to remember. My favorite Luffy moment and I 

am sure many others favorite moment comes when Luffy shoves a zombie  

back into the ground. I have seen this moment easily over 100 times in my  

life and can’t help but giggle every time I watch it. Luffy is oblivious in so

many ways but shoving a zombie back into the ground and getting scolded

by it seconds later gets me every time. Thriller Bark had many problems but

the comedic moments it provided cannot be argued. I believe Luffy would

have asked half the island to join his crew if he could.
