Chapter 1168 "The Snows of Elbaph" Review Spoilers!!!

Welcome back to another One Piece chapter review. We pick up this week back on Elbaph where Harald is preaching to his flock of Giants. Harald is still under the impression that giants are soon to be welcomed into the World Government and then his dream will be fully realized. We pan over to Harald and Ida talking for the last time and how proud she was of Harald for changing the country for the better. Even though I knew this was coming I could help but feel the impact Idas death had on Loki and Harald. Loki lost one of the last things in his life that he held dear and now Harald cannot share his dream with the one he truly loved. This did not stop Harald as we fast forward to the long-awaited meeting between Harald and IMU.

Harald arrives in Marajois and we are informed that Shanks had disappeared from the Holy Knights. This led to the government deciding they would offer Harald the chance to join them. Harald of course accepts this offer and is taken immediately to the throne room. Every time I see scenes like this, I wonder how Harald is walking into all of these rooms so easily. I find it hard to believe every place is built for someone his size... Anyway Harald comes face to face with IMU and is granted the next pact which ultimately seals his fate and binds him to IMU. As the elders stand there in shock Imu delivers his first order...

IMU tells Harald that the giants will be welcomed into the World Government, but he needs to put a seal in Elbaph. Harald is beyond thrilled and travels back to Elbaph right away. We see Harald create the seal in the palace and then the moment we all have been waiting for finally appears. IMU tells Harald to create an army of giants and Harald realizes that he has been tricked. The new pact does not allow Harald to say no and he frantically tells the guards to tie him up and fetch Jarul and Loki. We end the chapter knowing that we have caught up to the beginning of the story.

This chapter made me feel a few different things as I was reading through it. I love the background information we are getting about IMU and the pact along with Shanks history with the Holy Knights. This chapter felt like a lot of set up for the next chapter as we will undoubtedly be entering the final fight before Haralds death. This backstory has been one of the best of the series and I am stoked to see how it wraps up. If I know anything about Harald we are bound to get a lot of tears and regret about what is happening.
